Roo's Big Hop Adventure
Once upon a time, at the edge of a wide, sandy field, Roo the kangaroo practiced her bouncing hops higher and higher every single day. Her friend, a small and timid turtle, watched from a safe distance, wishing she could hop so high but feeling much too nervous to try. "Would you like to learn?" Roo asked kindly, noticing the turtle's longing look. "I am too slow and my legs are too short," the turtle said shyly, tucking into her shell a little. Roo did not laugh or hurry her; instead, she sat down beside the turtle and showed her a tiny hop, just barely off the ground. The turtle tried it, wobbling but managing a small, proud little bounce. "You did it!" Roo cheered, clapping her paws together. Every day after that, they practiced a little more, the turtle's hops growing just a bit bigger and braver each time. She would never hop as high as Roo, and that was perfectly fine, because she had found her own happy bounce. One sunny morning, the turtle hopped clean over a little stick, and the whole field of animals cheered for her. "Being brave does not mean hopping the highest," Roo said proudly. "It means trying your very own hop." And the turtle smiled the biggest smile of her life.
