The Little Chef's Soup
Once upon a time, the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of herbs and olive oil. The child wore a miniature white chef hat and stood on the sturdy kitchen helper stool. "Welcome, Chef!" said Mommy. Chef's first job was washing the crisp green spinach leaves in a bowl of cool water: swish, splash! Next, Chef tore the soft lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces: rip, tear! Together, they poured the green veggies into the warm soup pot. Mommy stirred with the big wooden spoon while the soup bubbled gently: blup, blup! When dinner was served, the child tasted the warm soup with pride: "I made this delicious soup!" Eating food they helped prepare tasted better than anything in the world.
