Ziggy's Stripe Painting Day
Once upon a time, on a sunny afternoon, Ziggy the zebra and his friends decided to have a painting day by the watering hole. "I only have black and white stripes," Ziggy said, looking a little wistfully at a peacock's colorful feathers nearby. The peacock smiled and offered to share some of her bright blue and green paint, while a flamingo offered a splash of pink. Ziggy dipped his hoof carefully and painted swirling patterns onto a big smooth rock, mixing his stripes with all the borrowed colors. A young elephant joined in with gray paint for clouds, and a family of parrots added yellow suns and orange flowers all around the edges. Soon the plain rock had become a beautiful, colorful mural made by every animal's favorite color, working together side by side. "Your stripes gave the painting its pattern, and everyone else gave it color," said the peacock, admiring their teamwork. Ziggy looked at the finished painting and felt proud that his simple black and white stripes had helped hold the whole colorful picture together. "We each brought something different, and together it is beautiful," Ziggy said happily. From that day on, the animals painted by the watering hole every sunny afternoon, always finding new colors and patterns to share.
