The Clever Cat and the Big Dog
Once upon a time, in a cozy little town, a big friendly dog loved to nap in the warm sunshine. A clever cat named Milly lived right next door in a small blue house. Every day, the big dog's ball would roll into Milly's garden, and his big paws could never fit through the little fence. "Do not worry," said Milly. "I have an idea." Milly's paws were small and quick, perfect for squeezing through the fence gaps, and she would gently roll the ball back to her big friend every time. "Thank you, Milly! You are small, but so very clever," said the big dog. One warm afternoon, the big dog heard Milly meowing from the tallest branch of a tree. She had climbed up to chase a butterfly but now felt too high to climb down. The big dog stood underneath and said, "Jump down to me, I will catch you safely." Milly took a deep breath and jumped into his big, soft paws. "Thank you for catching me," said Milly with a happy purr. "Now we have both helped each other," said the big dog, smiling. From that day on, the small clever cat and the big gentle dog were the very best of friends in the whole town.
