The Lion and the Little Girl
Once upon a time, in a warm and sunny jungle, a big lion was walking home. Ouch! A sharp thorn was stuck in his soft paw. The lion sat down and looked at his paw sadly. Just then, a kind little girl came skipping through the jungle path. She saw the lion and was not afraid at all. "Oh no, you have a thorn in your paw," she said gently, and carefully pulled it out. The lion felt so much better right away and gave a happy little roar. "Thank you, little friend," he seemed to say. From that day, the lion and the little girl met every morning by the big tree. They shared berries and told each other stories, and the lion let her ride upon his back through the tall grass. One day, the little girl's kitten got stuck up in a tall tree. The lion stood up and gently helped the kitten climb down to safety. The whole jungle talked about the lion and the little girl who helped each other. They played together every single day, through sunny days and rainy days too. The little girl learned that even a big lion can be gentle and kind. And the lion learned that a small act of kindness can grow into a wonderful friendship.
