The Broken Crayon

Once upon a time, Emma was drawing a purple butterfly when—snap! Her favorite purple crayon broke into two pieces. Emma gasped, and big tears welled up in her eyes. "Oh no, my crayon is ruined!" she sobbed. Grandma sat beside her, wiped her tears gently, and picked up the two broken pieces. "Look, Emma! Before, you had one purple crayon. But now you have two purple crayons! One for your left hand, and one for your right hand. Or one for you, and one for me to draw with!" Emma blinked. She tried drawing with the smaller piece: it drew just as brightly as before! Together, Emma and Grandma used both pieces to color the prettiest butterfly in the sketchbook. Emma learned that when something breaks or goes wrong, we can find a new way to make it wonderful.
